I am excited to be exhibiting at the Tauranga Fringe Festival in the WORN exhibition.
WORN is a celebration of adornment, jewellery, fashion objects and the beautiful unexpected contemporary wearable art.
The centrepiece of my collection
The centrepiece of my collection is a handmade silver necklace featuring a naturally formed pounamu pendant that, to my eye, resembles Mauao.
Shaped by the ocean, wind, and time, Mauao carries his own story of being "worn" by nature - a concept felt especially deeply given the landslides on the maunga.
Through these pieces, I express connection, grief, care, and honoring what endures.
Gems selected connect with Mauao through colour or shape.
Reticulated, "wrinkled", sterling silver, features on some pieces, a reminder of the landslide scars left on Mauao.
20% of sales from my collection will be donated to the Mount Life Guards as they return to their home by the beach.
